Had a great time yesterday with our BNI group outing at Village Lanes Bowling. Great to see the spirit of competition in force. Thank you Ian for letting me be top scorer in game three. Thanks to everyone that came out. A lot of fun.
Great meeting on Wednesday! K.C. Ryerson gave us a virtual tour of Poet's Walk - a memory care community in Leesburg. I only wish there was a Poet's Walk near my father-in-law when he went thru Alzheimers. Having done an actual tour myself, I can say that Poet's Walk is flat out incredible.K.C. Ryerson
We had a great meeting this Wednesday - lots of vistors & energy! Jim Magner gave this week's Keynote address. Honest - our attorney is hilarious! Jim educated us by using real cases that were really ... unbelievable :-) So we learned and laughed.
This past week's meeting was, as usual, terrific!. Jim Magner told us how to create a memorable pitch: 1) You have a problem; 2) Its not your fault, 3) I can solve your problem, 4) you only need to give me something small in return. Sharon Inetas gave a great keynote & we all learn a bunch about stone for countertops - Sharon at Sky Marble is definitely the place to go for all things stone :-) Can you answer the question in the picture?
This week we all picked from a hat and did someone else's elevator speech: some were serious, some were send-ups some were hilarious. But all of them showed how well we've gotten to know one another & how well we can act on each others behalf. And it was a blast :-)
We got another great keynote this week - this time from Alia. She's from Sandy Spring Bank, part of their business banking team. She walking us all thru Banking for Small Business 10u1. Learning: you do not want to use a debit card associated with your primary operating checking account - theu risk of fraud outweighs the benefit - you should create a 'working' checking account with a managed amount of funds in it. Then you have managed amount at risk.
on 3/27 Jamie Craddock gave us an update on the NOVA real-estate market - ITS ON FIRE. Jamie did remind us that in the current market is very important to work with an agent who knows the local market & who ACTIVELY works on your behalf.
Joe Urbano gave this weeks keynote on his company - AlphaGraphics Loudoun - a marketing company targeting small & midsized orgnanizations. Cyndi Urbano answered questions on current marketing trends.
We had a great meeting on Wednesday, Gayle Bailey gave the Keynote address which was focus on opportunities in independent assisted living in the DC Metro area
Ben Lincas, of US Health gave a great keynote on the pros & cons of different sources of health care plans - and he was funny at the same time :-) Pretty impressive!
Sophia Nelson, who is frequently seen on CNN gave the keynote address at this week's meeting. She gave us 8 keys to unlock our lives - extracted from her book. She was energizing and inspirational!
