We hope you have a wonderful day celebrating the honor it is to live in the USA!
We are super excited to share the newest 2019 NIO Summit trailer. We especially love our Senior Director of Research and Education turning into a strong man with a pretty sweet mustache. Join us at this year’s NIO for all kinds of learning and even more fun. http://bit.ly/2X6MtfG
President Donald J. Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron spoke to a World War II veteran, watched a flyover, and visited the American Normandy Cemetery to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day. https://fxn.ws/2Mv1C6s
At last years NIO Summit, Tim Kachuriak (NextAfter) and Brian Davis (Active Engagement) sat down for an episode of Optimization Insider where they discussed the importance of optimizing emails, avoiding the dreaded spam folders and the mispractice of fine-tuning an email strategy instead of focusing on the content inside the email. http://bit.ly/2I7vAb1
“The fact is: It's true what they say about the United States. It is a land of opportunity. It is too various to get bored with it.”
Thankful to the heroes that make this possible. Have a blessed Memorial Day!

Government has no business regulating normal markets, but it does have business keeping monopolies from harming the American people.
Looking forward to this year's summit!
The speakers lined up for this year’s NIO Summit have a diverse and awesome variety of backgrounds. There will be a mentalist, professional negotiator, and Oxford professor all speaking and presenting. We are very excited and there are still more to be announced. When it comes to talking with your donors, less isn't more.
What this year's Benchmarks teaches us about message volume and retention rates.
Great job, Team AE!

Are you properly thanking your donors?
Showing donor love and asking for more money should not be mutually exclusive activities. Inspiring upgraded support requires both to work hand-in-hand. Unfortunately, for many nonprofit organizati…
About a year ago, our creative team here at Active Engagement set a goal to increase recurring monthly giving for one of our clients over the course of 2017.
The results were astounding.
While we hoped to increase the monthly recurring gifts for this client by 10-15% through two targeted campaigns, we ended up increasing this client’s monthly donations by 105.5% in 2017.
This translates to more than $11,000 in revenue every month through an almost entirely passive revenue stream.
A huge boost to a small organization!
Along with the increased revenue, we grew the number of monthly sustainers from 250 to 461 donors, an increase of 84%, and saw the average monthly gift go up by 11.5%.
Between testing new creative approaches, segmenting the donor file, and zeroing in on the organization’s value proposition, we saw great results in 2017, and will continue to test our approach to monthly giving this year.
As you’re planning your 2018 strategy, I encourage you to think about how you approach, convert, cultivate, and retain monthly donors.
In our experience, the value of these donors is immense, and can make a huge difference to your overall program.
Another day, another change to Facebook.
An important note for page managers - there's a change coming to the way organic reach is calculated.
Interesting look at the lifespan of different kinds of content.
Here's the average lifespan of a piece of content. While a tweet is helpful for a last minute reminder or a quick idea, investing in more substantial content can have returns for years. How is your organization applying this data as you engage donors online?
Getting our creative juices flowing. Happy Cinco de Mayo!
What does it take to run a top-notch email program for a presidential campaign? Our own Eric Josephsen breaks it down today in The Resurgent:
As someone whose livelihood depends on political email traffic, my ears perk up whenever email becomes more than just background noise and instead makes national news. So, a few days ago, when digi…
An AE tradition: the honor of the Christmas sweater. #hazing

One of the many reasons we roll our own tools for donation processing...
Republicans and conservatives have spent four years defending their financial benefactors from the "puppetmaster" attacks of the left. The left's only turned up the heat; Harry Reid has used two weeks of Senate speeches to condemn Charles and David Koch and their support for Republicans. At CPAC, Mi...
Great to see one of our clients making waves in KY!
Here's a fact — Mitch McConnell polls badly in Kentucky. He has been in Washington since 1985. Kentuckians, like everybody else, are tired of
