I pray everyone is healthy and safe.I know this is a tough time for all of us ,but keep looking upward.
We are starting back up once this snow goes away.We are allowed to work thankfully and will be following all safety measures.
Spring gives up great hope of rebirth and renewal and our earth is awake with spring beauty.
Know we will continue to work hard using our educated knowledge to maintain and create your garden dreams this year.
See you soon.

I can see Spring everywhere. The trees and shrubs are budding and spring bulbs starting to bloom. In these tough times we have to believe in Spring this year for sure. Spring is about rebirth and awakening.Let us be the trees and flowers and come out of this stronger, and beautiful.

Times are tough right now but God and country will get us through. We struggle to find time in our hectic world to do the little things we enjoy. Now that we have some time why not browse those seed and plant catalogs that you stack up planning to look at when you have time.Creating a dream garden or plant wish list just might bring you some peace and joy amongst all this turmoil.

Beautiful time of the year. Look around your gardens and see where some fall color is needed. Hibiscus bloom late, hydrangea, hellianthus, heliopsis, mums, asters are just a few that can add to falls splendor.

Treasure in our gardens. The praying mantis is quite the huntress. She loves eating aphids and other bugs that plague our flowers. Of course she she has a wicked side too. I focus on her beauty and the gift to the garden that she is.

start thinking about fall bulbs for late September till end of October planting or before ground freezes. Also planting mums early gives the hardy ones a chance to take root.

With all the rain and tropical heat the slugs and snails are very active. They will turn a marigold into a skeleton in a flash. One can physically remove them or try....crushed oyster shells, cans of beer, hollowed out grapefruit, neem oil just a few ideas around plants. Now if they were the right kind of snails(escargot) yum........

Now is the time to fertilize your roses. I like granular 3way by Bayer. It feeds, controls fungus and insects. Roses are worth the effort but they do take care. When pruning remember to trim at an angle cut. If you see a hollow hole in your rose stem that is rose bore. Cut until it’s no longer there and dispose of worm infested wood.

04/02/2019

Out working at YGB today. The mums are just starting to show so be careful when trimming back.

03/29/2019

Nows a good time to sharpen and clean your garden tools. Like kitchen knives a sharp tool is safer then a dull one. Clean cuts at an angle is the only way to prune . I use soap and a little bleach to disinfect my tools, not spreading fungus .

Spring is here but don’t get ahead of Mother Nature. We want to rake out those flower beds but...if you still see heave wait for more warm days and nights. Raking hard now can uproot perennials very easily as the frost pushed them up. I know it’s hard but tread gingerly if you can’t wait.

03/10/2019

Today is a good but muddy day to survey your flower beds. Tha spring bulbs are showing lots of activity and you can see where you’d like more next season. I take pictures when they are blooming so I know where to plant in the fall. It’s a great blueprint and saves harming existing bulbs.

03/06/2019

Cold snowy day, perfect for looking outside and seeing where you may need something evergreen in the landscape. There are so many choices anymore and dwarf sizes. But then again there’s nothing like a weeping Nootka...my fav!

02/27/2019

Time to be starting your tomatoes if you like to do so...enjoy seed catalogs and try something new. Gardening is a wonderful adventure and learning process. I never tire of it all.

02/18/2019

I will be trimming cross over limbs and dead wood on fruit trees next weekend. Time to do it while trees are dormant.

02/07/2019

Now is the time to prune your fruit trees. Just be done before mid March.

02/06/2019

The big thaw and spring bulbs are showing their heads....
